After painting “La Hija del Maíz” together at Museo Bélber in Oaxaca, we continued our conversation about what sustains us.
Corn is not just a grain, it is our complete history. From blue corn to bolita, cacahuacintle, olotillo, more than 60 varieties that hold the memory of our peoples and the wisdom of those who have sown for generations.
This piece celebrates that richness, that diversity that makes us who we are.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
LAPIZTOLA
Artistic collective founded in Oaxaca. Their work combines printmaking techniques, silkscreen, and muralism to create visual narratives that dialogue with social struggles, historical memory, and Mexico’s cultural identity. With over 20years of trajectory, LAPIZTOLA has established itself as a reference point in Latin American urban art, with interventions in public spaces and exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout Mexico and the world.
SAID DOKINS
Mexican artist and pioneer in the contemporary exploration of calligraphy and writing as forms of urban art. He has developed his own visual language that fuses calligraphic tradition with urban intervention, creating monumental pieces in public spaces across Mexico, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
