In this artwork, Said Dokins reflects on ritual writing and calligraphy as a space of negotiation between the profane and the sacred.
This piece is part of the Hidden Words series where the artist uses multiple layers of calligraphy. Dokins writes on the surface and then covers it with a new layer of color to write again and again, as if it were a palimpsest. He finally gets a work that hides a whole series of inscriptions.
